The fourth Sharjah Animation and Comics Conference (SACC 2026) has concluded at Aljada, attracting 8,075 visitors over four days. The event featured more than 150 activities and brought together 70 speakers from 30 different countries. This edition marked the first time animation and comics were combined under a single platform at the venue.
According to ZAWYA, the programme included professional discussions, workshops, masterclasses, and exhibitions. Attendees participated in live drawing sessions, gaming experiences, film screenings, and orchestral performances. The conference served as a meeting point for international artists, regional talent, publishers, and producers to explore project development and international distribution.
The closing ceremony, hosted by Lauren Mary Kim, honoured winners of the Pitch the Project Award and the Book2Screen Challenge. These competitions encouraged creators to develop original animated series concepts for children and supported the adaptation of literary works into visual productions.
