Construction has begun on Sharjah’s first UK branch campus, a 2,700-capacity school in the Masaar forested community scheduled to open in 2027.

Arada has awarded an AED183 million main construction contract to Al Rehab Al Arabi Building Contracting Co. LLC for the development of Reigate Grammar School Masaar. The project is a partnership with Bright Capital Investment and represents the first time a UK school has established a branch campus in Sharjah. Construction is expected to take 16 months to complete.

The campus is situated on a 450,000-square-foot plot in the northern corner of the Masaar megaproject. According to Arada, the facility will accommodate 2,700 pupils and include a performing arts centre, a STEM centre, a library, and various sports facilities including swimming pools. The school is scheduled to welcome its first cohort of students in September 2027.

Reigate Grammar School was founded in the UK in 1675 and currently operates international campuses in several countries, including Saudi Arabia and China. The new Sharjah location will follow a British curriculum. The development follows research indicating a preference among local residents for premium K-12 education options with high-end facilities.

Masaar is a forested community featuring 3,000 units and a green spine of 70,000 trees. The site is located in the Suyoh district, providing access to Emirates Road and Maliha Road. All residential phases of the community are scheduled for completion within the current year.
