Paid parking system launches at Aljada with ticketless technology

A new smart parking system has commenced operations across selected areas of Aljada. The initiative is a partnership between the developer Arada and Parkin, marking the Dubai-listed company’s first expansion into Sharjah. The system utilizes Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology to manage vehicle entry and exit without the need for physical tickets or barriers.

According to Gulf News, parking rates vary by location. On-street parking at East Boulevard is set at Dh6.30 per hour and operates 24 hours a day. Designated off-street lots charge Dh4.20 per hour between 8am and midnight. Visitors to retail zones at The Boulevard, Tiraz and Misk receive the first two hours free, followed by a Dh10 hourly rate.

Residents will continue to use the parking spaces allocated within their property agreements. Any use of additional spaces outside these allocations will be subject to the new paid system. Seasonal subscriptions are available for eligible areas and can be managed through the operator's digital platform.

Payments are processed through existing digital channels, identifying vehicles by their number plates. The rollout is intended to improve space management and availability across the community as demand grows from residents, students and visitors.
