The 10th edition of the Xposure International Photography Festival begins a week-long run at Aljada featuring 95 exhibitions and over 420 artists.
The 10th edition of the Xposure International Photography Festival is set to begin this Thursday at Aljada. Organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, the event runs until 4 February under the theme A Decade of Visual Storytelling. The festival features 95 exhibitions and 3,200 artworks from more than 60 countries.
According to Sharjah24, the opening ceremony will include a keynote address by the Mayor of Athens, as the Greek capital is the Guest of Honour. A dedicated pavilion will showcase 140 artworks by six Greek artists. The festival is organised into 12 thematic zones, including nature, photojournalism, and sports photography.
The programme includes 126 talks, 72 workshops, and a global trade exhibition for imaging technologies. A Conservation Summit titled Troubled Waters will take place on 2 February, bringing together scientists and explorers to discuss marine ecosystem protection and climate change.
Featured international participants include David Burnett, Morten Qvale, and Dan Kitwood. The event also includes a comprehensive film programme and portfolio review sessions led by experts, marking the festival's evolution into a major international gathering for visual artists.
